Hug
Hug is part of an unusual, concept-driven range called Hands which was the culmination of Jane’s degree studies. The pieces are made from an unconventional material – silicone rubber – fused with traditional precious metal. She is aiming to demonstrate physical communication – how a mood, a reaction, an emotion, can be understood without speech.
These pieces are a cultural observation. Focus falls upon human conduct and interaction. Her aim is to highlight the importance of the hands in any social context.
